Uganda Rural Fund values the needs and contributions of women in society today. villagebank We are committed to the empowerment of women groups through awareness raising on their rights, roles and responsibilities, to enable them get actively involved in decision making processes for improved livelihoods. The objective of this empowerment program is to provide education, employment assistance, health, and housing and support services to women who are in disadvantaged positions due to poverty, homelessness, and HIV/AIDS infection. Our goal is to provide case management, support services, basic skills education and resource coordination that can offer viable alternatives of life. Advocacy and capacity building are going to be the main stream of URCSF work among women in the rseminarural targeted communities. Realizing that intervention for empowerment of poor women must be done at many different levels, the organization will intervene at a higher level than household level. The organization wants to move to policy interaction at district, and national levels. The advocacy program aims at directly increasing women’s access to information and opportunities for sustainable development thereby increasing t heir choices and abilities to engage in development processes that directly affect them.
