Organisation Profile, History and Objectives

Hope for Children is an international charity working towards a world in which every child has the happy, healthy and positive childhood we passionately believe they deserve.

Each day we hear of people who commit crimes such as assault, burglary, murder rape, thief and others. Unfortunately, increasing crimes are now being done by children. Hope for Children Charity is aiming for continued effort and support to assist in the reduction of the above mentioned crimes. We have done empowerment programs for children and we are planning to build a main correctional facility for children in Eastern Uganda, Jinja. However our main approach is prevention. We focus on nurturing children, so that they can be productive adults. We have also counseled boys and girls in schools especilly in Eastern Uganda ‘The solution to a better tomorrow is to give hope to the children today’

The majority of children need a transformation. Most children according to our particular upbringing and experiences, in poverty, tend to repeat the cycle of their parents. "Transforming the Mind" has to be addressed and the process of human conditioning and how to achieve an awakening from this imposition. Overcome our conditioning and to release the baggage we are carrying around. We need to seek to develop solutions inside and outside the lines of our culture to find our true identity. In so doing we also discover the reasons why friendships break down, marriages go sour and misunderstandings occur, poverty increases, why life may contain more stress than pleasure and why our purposes in life become obscured.

The charity was established in 2016, to provide assistance to underprivileged children via outreach programmes. The charities mainly work through the Primary schools or persons who know of underprivileged children. For the past seven (3) years, Hope for Children’s has been making random donations of food, hygiene, clean piped water, formal school education, school supplies and clothing supplies to underprivileged families in Eastern Uganda.

OUR HISTORY

On visiting several local communities for several years the founder, Samuel Kiiza Mukoyo thought there should be a better way to help the kids rather than to keep them all in big and gruesomelocal communities. He was fortunate to meet like-minded people who had a vision of building a home for the children in need. Their vision materialized when several childrens' orphanages in Uganda were visited. When the house filled up and there was no more room Mark undertook a trip to Texas to raise funds for the addition to the house and there he was introduced to the Foster Care concepts. Why build big expensive houses when families can come alongside and help? Why place children in the institution setting when they can meet their second father and mother and be raised in a regular family. Thus the project of Hope Welcomes Children Foundation came to life in 2016. A year later more volunteers joined the program and together the team developed foster care program, placing children in local homes, providing support, training new parents and changing the whole mentality in country. Alongside with foster care, another program of mentoring older children was born, because of a big number of kids at risk who graduate from orphanages. Hope Welcomes Children Foundation has grown into a strong organization that provides services all around the country and has a vision to stop children from hurting.

Beneficiaries are children and young people in extreme poverty.

Almost half of the world’s children live in extreme poverty. We are helping to change this by delivering education, health, livelihoods and Child Rights projects that benefit thousands of children and families each year.

Several communities have also benefited through provision of clean piped water in such communities.

ORPHANAGE MINISTRY

Constant increase in the quantity of orphans is one of the main issues in Uganda. Our Orphanage ministry is striving to personally meet the spiritual, physical and educational needs of the orphans and abandoned street kids in state orphanages. Over the years we built good relationship with several orphanages in our area. By the virtue of providing financial assistance, providing clothes, food and other resources, by arranging outings to the theater, circus, food we developed friendship with the leadership and the children of these local communities. On the yearly basis along with our oversee partners we organize short-term construction teams to assist the orphanages in their needs. It is always a joy for the children to have guests. As soon as we come to them you can see them running and fighting for getting a hug and few words of love. We encourage local and oversee audience to consider becoming a volunteer and help in an orphanage. A typical volunteer work would be doing repairs, providing mental and psychological support, teaching the kids about health and hygiene, manual labor jobs, painting, art and crafts, renovation work and other vocational projects. Volunteering in Uganda on our Orphanage ministry is the best travel experience you can have since you would be making a difference in a poor child’s life in the orphanage or any other case.
